During SIP many parents are struggling with what activities they can do to engage their children and keep them learning. The benefit of Aloha Mind Math is that children use kinesthetic learning on the abacus and are physically and mentally engaged while building core math skills. Taking breaks from the abacus and practicing mental math training for visualization gives them variety and helps them improve mental arithmetic. When doing mental math, it’s important to do a mixture of warm-up problems to build confidence and challenge problems to help them set goals and grow. Make sure they are having fun! You can even do mind math games at home with them and set a time challenge to see which of you completes the problems the fastest to work on speed math. This is a great way to encourage them to keep up their visual math practice and will keep them engaged at home.
